The fall of 2018 was filled with much more than just doctor appointments and medical procedures.
As a junior at St. Norbert College, I was struggling through my hardest semester. With hard classes like advanced German and International Studies, multiple jobs, and dealing with a difficult roommate, I never seemed to have any time.
I am a member of a social group, which includes meetings, volunteering and more. To top everything off, I was helping my sister prepare for her wedding, that took place in October! Adding on almost weekly doctor appointments to the melee kept me the busiest I have ever been.
I spent my weekdays working and doing school work, and went home most weekends to help with the wedding. Going home helped me get some fresh air to keep me going through stressful and busy times. I loved helping design the centerpieces and making the wedding favors. Most of all, I loved being a part of such a beautiful day to celebrate Mel and Dom.
The fall brought many new experiences apart from medical ones, like my first Packer game! The Monday night game against the 49'ers was an awesome game to attend, as they won in the last few moments of the game. I also was enjoying trying out gluten free foods and learning how to be healthier.
My social group, had a reunion to celebrate its 40th year on campus, which was a unique to event to experience. We also recruited about 15 new girls and were a part of events like Dance Marathon.
All of my professors and bosses were extremely flexible and willing to work with me, which helped me stay on track even when I frequently missed class or work for appointments. I definitely would not have done as well during the semester if they hadn't have been so understanding of the importance of health.
Even with it being the busiest time, I still found time to hangout with my best friends and even occasionally play my favorite game, BINGO!
